Quality worship leading
Deciding what a good worship leader is too subjective to be given a true meaning. To me, regardless of what style of music they play, a good worship leader is someone who is able to seamlessly connect the music they're playing to God. Another thing that I think is good to have is a selfless desire to draw people to Jesus.
The person I chose is Cory Henry, a primarily gospel focused musician. He is a very influential organ player who has been playing in the church most of his life. He plays in gospel churches and occasionally will sing when he is playing. He is a great example of someone who can seamlessly connect what he is playing to Jesus and God.

Book reading
Emerging worship by Dan Kimball
The portion that I read in this book focused on creating a multi Congregational church without creating separate churches. They looked specifically at twin lakes and went over how they addressed the dwindling youth population that was at their church. They took a look at both parts of the church and how they were different from eachother.
Two points:
-the church can't be split into two separate entities when it breaks off
-be as inclusive as possible in order that you may keep the oneness of your church

The gift of worship
This video talks about people only being interested in how good the worship is. People care more about how worship affects the, that how it affects God and how we are worshiping him. Worship is more than just that, it is about you and God, nothing else. Worship isn't about our experience.
I think that this video brings to light a good idea. People are so focused on how "good" the worship is to them, but in reality, that's not important at all. I think that this video does a great job at gently showing how worship should be looked at, it makes me think about how I view worship sometimes.

I think that worship as a dialogue is important because we need to keep in mind that worship not only raises God, but fills us up as well.
I like this because we need to be focused when talking about God and worshiping God. We must have the right intentions or it is all just a waste of time.
Worship is relevant and all around us. Worship is timeless and we can't forget that, worship can be anything and everything we do.
Worship is not only current, but it also brings us back to previous times and churches with hymns or other older forms of worship. It's easier to enjoy the older worship because of all the new bands trying to make it hip.
We must take away everything we can from worship and let it shape us. We need to let it fill us up and have it overflow through out our lives.
Worship involves all of us, not just our mouths or our hands, It uses and includes all of us. It also includes everyone, nobody is exempt from worship.
Worship can't only be targeted at a specific age group or set of interests. If we don't strive to include thing that a variety of people like, not as many people will connect to what we are playing.
God is present during worship, he is here but also in heaven. We need to remember that as God is in heaven and we are praising him, we also need to remember that he is present

why aren't we singing
I think that what he is saying is very true, people won't sing along with a song if it is just too difficult to sing along to, we need to play songs that people know and are easy enough to sing along to. I like how he always starts off his services with a vocal warm up of some sort, wether it be a scale or singing a short hymn. It really helps people to start singing along.
It's also important the we don't only worship at church. We need to be worshiping all the time, every moment of our lives. We can't rely on church to bring the worship to us, we need to be in a worshipful state of mind and then the worship team can guide us through our worship.

Are we insulting God?
What does it mean to be for God? Worshiping God isn't for you, it's for God. God doesn't need our help, we don't do worship band in order to help God out. We do worship band because we want to show people how amazing God actually is. God doesn't need us, if you are leading worship to help out God you have the wrong motives in mind. We want to lead people to God without having the wrong mindset of that we are helping God out or doing God a favor.
